Matthew
25:35, 36 (Amplified) says, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was
thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you
brought me together with yourselves…I was naked and you clothed me, I was
sick and you visited me with help and ministering care, I was in prison
and you came to see me.” These words reflect the very heart of our
Evangelism ministries, to reach the lost and the hurting.
We
are involved in Nursing Home Ministry, Sidewalk Sunday School (held
outside in specific communities during the summer months for school-aged
children), Hospital and Home Visitation, Altar Ministry, Greeter Ministry,
and various classes are offered to help disciple newly saved people or
help prepare others for advanced forms of ministry.
Pat’s Pantry – food storage pantry that
allows individuals to come and select food as needed while allowing them
to maintain a sense of dignity.
Mobile Pantry – meals are taken to the elderly Saturdays of every
week.
H.O.P. (House of Purpose) – community youth event offering a variety of
sport activities, food and fellowship while all being centered on the
theme of Jesus.
Other activities such as basketball leagues and student mentoring programs
are also getting underway.
Our main goal here
at Calvary is to share the love of Jesus with as many people as possible,
going beyond the walls of the church. A variety of ministries is offered
to help each individual fulfill their specific purpose.
